Oblivion

Built with help.
Credited properly.

Oblivion v2 is my own work, but it did not come from nowhere. These are the projects and people whose tools and ideas shaped it. A lot of scripts never say where their ideas came from, so here is the honest list.

Tools inside Oblivion

  • Rayfield Gen2The switch and colour picker elements used across the menu.
  • LuaProtProtects the script. I chose it after seeing Novoline, a popular script, run on it with a trusted community behind it.
  • SoundCloudPowers the Music tab. An amazing catalogue to build on.

Ideas that inspired a feature

  • OrcaScript thumbnails while loading, and the friend activity idea.
  • SiriusThe dock, the Players tab and the Settings layout.
  • AK AdminThe idea behind the server browser.
  • PhantomThe idea for a Music tab, and a lot of help on the Cmds tab.
  • NovolineThe single-page layout of this website. I liked how their site kept everything on one page and built mine the same way.

Commands

  • Written for OblivionThe Cmds tab and its command system are my own. A handful of individual commands were adapted from the admin scripts that shaped the scene: Infinite Yield, CMD-X, Nameless Admin and Novoline.
  • Phantom and DreamingPhantom (@phantomvail) and Dreaming (@n.cir) helped me build the commands and tested them over and over until they worked properly.

The Chat tab

  • Carried over from SYNCI first built a global chat for SYNC, my earlier project, so bringing it to Oblivion felt natural.

Performance

  • Gladius@ironbrew1 is the one who recommended the macros that fixed the lag.

A note from me.

Credit matters to me. Every name on this page helped make Oblivion better, and I would rather say that openly than pretend it all appeared on its own. Thank you to every developer behind these projects, your work taught me a lot.

Oblivion still has bugs and rough edges. I know, and I am fixing them one by one. If something is broken, a credit is missing, or you just have a thought, tell me below. I read every message.
